ALPA's Mad Scramble is Tanking at RAH
For any RAH pilots who have gotten the "glad hand" and "love" of ALPA from other carriers in the past couple of days; in case you were wondering why, here's the answer.
It seems that ALPA is having a tough time getting cards back. And with the NMB getting ready to rule on the Single Carrier Status petition very soon, ol' Lee and Representation are getting VERY nervous...
What to do?
Simple. They paid a visit to the NMB and the person who is reviewing the petition. It seems that she's very upset that the IBT Airline Division did a good job of representing their flight attendants at RAH against the AFA (where she used to be President). Sooo.....
ALPA talked her into sandbagging the Single Carrier ruling to allow them more time to get cards in.
[Mod edit: delete politics]
On one hand, they (ALPA) are working hand in hand with DAL to overlap every Frontier route with extra capacity to kill off Frontier. On the other hand, they are trying desperately to get cards from RAH pilots so they can get your dues money.
This is about ALPA running out of money. They are losing AirTran. They lost the card drive again at JetBlue. And they can't seem to get the RAH pilots to sign cards fast enough here.
And FAPA wants you to believe that jumping into that is somehow going to be in your best interests. It's best to give up the SLI for the deal they wanted.
Ummmm...yeah. Makes you wonder what they offered that "certain person" at the NMB. A shiny ALPA pin? Or maybe a free lifetime subscription to the magazine?

The whole thing reeks.
Get the single carrier status. That would be great, and you would probably see some action wrt to some mainline scope clauses.
As for ALPA running out of money, no really. For the B6 drive, it is not over, and they will come a running when they are bought up.
We as pilots really are our own worst enemies.

ATCsaidDowhat I did not know you were a comedian as well. Very lame attempt to discredit ALPA. Keep it up you are doing a great job.
