Court Upholds NMB rule change

This was the rule change made which says that the majority of actual voters not the majority of eligible voters determines the outcome of a representational election.

Airlines Fail to Overturn Obama Rule on Union Elections - Bloomberg

One Bush-appointed judge and one Clinton-appointed judge upheld the rule change with one judge (also Bush-appointed) dissenting.

Elections matter.

Because if you pay your workers a decent wage it leaves less money for the perfumed princes to steal from the company. Every dollar management gives to peons is a dollar they could have taken for themselves.

WARNING! WARNING!

This thread is in danger!

Posters are getting dangerously close to discussing politics.

Remember, just because this ruling involved politics, we must not discuss the politics, only the outcome...which was debated in a political environment...but don't mention the political environment.

Now someone please post something about Obamanomics, investing in gold, or Atlas Shrugged.

You boys get back to me when this makes any difference at all in your real net salary, not just a raise for the ALPA president.

There are two main reasons we don't talk politics here:

1. All politicos are liars, if you don't understand this you still have a lot of growing up to do.

2. They really are not going to help you, if you don't understand this you still have a lot of growing up to do.

Believe whatever you like, unicorns still won't exist. Lip service will go on forever.

Here is your payback for loyalty:

Herc,

I think that it is an amazingly educated and apropos comment.

Just watch Rush and Hannity on Fox "News", playing in every crew room, FBO, barbershop, etc: Free market good, union evil. Repeat.

Olympic is most certainly correct.

You obviously do not see the irony in your statement: what is the main purpose of a union? Collective bargaining. What do people do in a free market? They bargain for goods and services. What is the antithesis of a free market? How about an economy with strict government controls. By the way, how many successful airline pilot unions do you see flourishing in China?;)
