For example the current LAX FM - nice guy, but wouldn't trust him in a million years. Ex-fighter jock, but he's management oriented. He tries to be a pilot-friend, but does the dirty work for the CPO. He's your friend until there is a he said/she said moment and he'll never side with you. His intentions were great when he went in, but he is one of them now. Not only will I never trust him, I will never be his friend. Is it harsh, yup, but he chose being a FM. RJDio, you will have to choose, if this something worth it. If it's for lifestyle, then just be senior in a fleet & seat, and work less and get the days off you want. You can make more by picking up a trip. If your long term goal is being a system chief pilot or VP of flight ops one day, then have at it, but know what'll happen along the way with how other pilot will treat you or respect you AND you don't have to care. good luck |
No I don't "rock" and that's ok with me, but my only assumption about someone whose posts using RJDio is that they came from the RJ crowd and not a rocker wannabe.
This is a crowd of pilot bloggers, and not an ancient metal band member, but go ahead and blame me for being wrong about your handle, if that's the case. Oh, and yes I never liked heavy metal even though I lived in the day when they were young. But it is better than rap and I did have an original Iron Butterfly album because it was the thing to do in the day. And then I stopped following the crowd. Ps. To me Chicago was more than just the Windy City. I think others have posted with me on this whole idea of yours. FM is not about lifestyle. |

Speaking of spinal tap, we (my new hire class) had our spinal tap moment at TK. One evening we got lost and we're aimlessly walking around up and down stairs, down hallways, trying to find an exit. |

Close. But most ska bands model their instruments after Chicago. Think horns and such. You're my inspiration... |

darn you for going on a pilot forum and asking for some info. just darn you !! if you follow about a dozen of the regulars on here you'll see that reading is not their strong suit. or logical thought. i always think these dozen or so are all like those pilots you fly with and just roll your eyes as they talk and later avoid on the layover. you know the type oddly (maybe not) they are overrepresented on online forums Lee |

I'm not arguing with you, as I'm not in a position to really know. However, if true, I find it sure paints a poor picture of the pilot community. You need a "good leader", yet when they become one, they become the enemy, and are not trusted.
