Even that's debatable. They claim the Hogan has been sent out to the top 850 pilots, but I know quite a few in that group that haven't received one. Even of those who received one, the pass rate is about 50%, with about the same percentage passing the interview. The whole program is a joke, and not worth giving up QOL and suffering career stagnation for. Go someplace with a quick upgrade, since I doubt anyone with a hire date after 2006 at XJT will move over to UAL via the CPP before we shut down.

This is probably true.

What's even more whiskey tango foxtrot is there are pilots that passed the CPP interview, THEN got an OTS interview, and weren't selected. And their interview was the same. Granted, maybe their TSA score was low, but still.......

Another comical thing, last summer when it was all CPP interviews, they got down to roughly the #700-800 pilots on the XJT seniority list. Pilots in that seniority range, AT THAT TIME, had a projected class date some time in 2018. AGAIN, AT THAT TIME, going on the numbers.

Best part was, that was BEFORE the extension of flying past 2017. Meaning, those pilots projected class dates were AFTER XJT would have been shut down and they're no longer employed by XJT. And with the vague/gray CPP language, UAL would be under NO OBLIGATION to put them in class since, well, they don't work at XJT anymore.....

I'm glad it's working out for the guys that were applying and just couldn't get their app pulled and FINALLY got a chance to go and were "accepted".

But for all the good guys with solid resumes, clean records, and like everyone else giving it their best shot and weren't "accepted" all over the BK broiler not liking being told whom he'll interview and when is pretty silly.

It's funny (and sad, at the same time)- UA has taken some of the most notorious and hated pilots from XJT, yet kicked some of our best and brightest to the curb. That, in and of itself, left a bad taste in our collective mouth over here.

Agreed, my take on it as well.

But like I mentioned prior, at least it got a lower sick call rate out of XJT pilots last summer

Air Wisconsin is also getting the CPP with their new UA flying and they are probably a safer bet than Xjet (plus a very good company with a very good contract, big cash bonus, and an way shorter upgrade). Also heard from a couple different sources that United might be inclined to eliminate the Hogan for CPP candidates.

Delta was doing that at ASA for a while when they first started really hiring again 5 years ago. I know a bunch of great guys and good pilots that "failed" the psych test, and then you would hear of a regular CPO visitor getting a CJO.

A word of caution regarding chasing the quickest upgrades today.

I was at a couple RJ operators at the start of my career, jumping from one to another in search of QOL. At the time, my expected upgrade was on the order of ten years. I went on to fly cargo (and still didn't upgrade!), and in the meantime, both the carriers I was at signed new aircraft orders and I would have upgraded at about four years at either one.

IF
Xjet survives, anyone still there could be in a very good position for a quick upgrade. "Difficult to see, always in motion the future is."

If you're going to switch, go to an airline you wouldn't mind being stuck at for a while.

Go back a few years and you'll see there really is no "IF" about it.

SKW holdings/INC has pretty much assured that.

Sad for all the great people there.
