Yeah I missed out on that basic function in iPad training. But if you want to have an advanced iPad function contest bring your pocket protector and your bow tie and lets RUMBLE!!

That's why so many pilots can't do $h..... with iPads, because geniuses like you are teaching them.
Preflight iPad! I bet, you bring your own (Made in China $10.00) power pack on board, because you can't figure out why your battery lasts only 3 hours. I can't wait for another news flash: United airplane emergency landing in (.) due to fire on the flight deck; apparently pilots have used cheep-o Chinese fake power pack not certified by UL, that overheated."

If we had some really sharp people...the preflight of the iPad would entail entering your flight number and then letting the gee whiz technology do its thing. All info would propagate to the various apps and be readily available to the pilot.
As far as updates...that should be automatic and out of view of the user.
My opinion only. Let Tom do it...the EZCCS guy.

If you ever get line checked by a geeky fed you'll want to make sure everything is up to date. Its not hard to do and you can find the procedure in the iLog.
It is NOT my job to teach anything iPad but I do run through that with the guys if they haven't seen it.

Preflight an IPAD? Battery charged?
I am sure there was a bulletin 14.74 months ago that i was supposed to memorize, or was it a CCS message that I quickly deleted so I could check open time?
Our current flight department is FUBAR. I think both legacy flight departments were much better.
