The majority of the pilot(s) group(s) are either disconnected, don't care or are too lazy to do even the minimum.

What is the minimum?
Reading your emails and then doing the surveys or PDR's.

But, at the end of the day- it is what it is.
I fly with too many people who don't even know some of the basic things in our contract. Don't understand our Pay (which isn't easy, but if even I can figure out the basic, everyone should!) and haven't even looked or read the Contract Comparison.

Maybe it's a sign of the times.. but it is telling.

Motch

I've quit answering questions for guys... I just say "read the contract." You can keep the damn thing on your phone.

I have taken many such surveys and voiced my opinion. It has never mattered, senior pilots on the negotiating committee make all the blunders anyway. Trying to fix in in the next contract. And the same folks keep getting elected...

Ya, just read the contract, it is written in such a straight forward language that is so simple to understand and is organize in one logical place where you don't have to dig around and reference a hundred other citations, yep, no lawyers or grievance committees necessary...

Read horridos post, he's dead on. Can't count how many guys don't know the basics. Now reassigned into a delay that takes you into a day off or some weird situation, totally understand.

You may want to check the background of the last negotiating committee. I'll give you a hint....mostly junior narrow body.

All first officers, all narrow body with two taking wide body FO slots toward the end of negotiations.
