Hopefully they get them and they’re growth aircraft.

The 1 thing he wants way more then used aircraft, is scope relief. He has said such lately.

Don't follow the carrot of new planes, because he really wants to whip us all with the stick of scope relief. Eye on the ball!

On a positive note, you don't hear APU's screaming on the ramp. On a negative note, that is because every single airbus on the ramp has dual SCREAMING brake fans on. They are louder and more obnoxious than the APU.

3 years flying the bus at UAL I think I got hot brakes 5 or 6 times. Hot and high? Put external fans on the ramp at those very few airports.

321's I am not sure. Maybe more useful. I only flew them with brake fans.

Only reason the guppy doesn't get hot brakes is they didn't put a temp sensor on them. That POS would never get off the gate if they did.

Sure it has an indication. Brake chatter all the way to the gate.

Funny you mention that, was on a deadhead a few days ago in the gup and the brakes were chattering so bad I thought I would lose a filling. The passengers were all looking at each other like "WTF is going on?"

Kirby is probably the best thing for the company in a while and the worse thing for the pilot group.

Skywest has an order in for 100 non-scope complaint E2 ERJs, and Kirby likely has a plan for using them in the United network.

That's OK. I gotta plan to hook up with a Vicky Secret Model and win the lotto as well.

None of the three are likely.

Hell, we have bought airplanes for them in the past, why not just buy them again.

Only difference is, this time we fly em or they sit on the ramp gathering dust!!!!

Scope relief?? Not just "NO" but "HELL NO!!!"

Interesting perspective, never thought of that.

The handful we fly without them do get hot brakes often, but they do seem to cool off faster too.

Yes, those things are obnoxiously loud.

Without the fans, the brake temps start to up, peak, and then decline on their own. They are open to the air. Convection conduction,,and radiation. Put the fans on and they hold the heat in. They start to get hot, keep getting hotter, and don't cool off until you turn the fans on. If you park at the gate and come back 2 hours later with the fans off, they still have a lot of residual heat.

3 years at UAL flying 319's and 320's with no fans, hot brakes maybe 5 or 6 times. 4 years at 2 airlines with 319,320, 321, I might have NOT gotten hot brakes the same number of times.
