PDR.....says you can’t move it. I know I’ve done it before, they must be cracking down on it. If you open up a seat on one (not used) end & there is an open seat on the other, not sure why they can’t give you PS?

Did they cite the contract for reference? Because I can't find anywhere that says you can't.....

Here’s the response....

The UPA permits us to deviate within 48 hours of the scheduled departure date of the DH on our schedule. The intent is not to allow a pilot to move the DH to the other end of the trip, unfortunately. There is language for cross-town trips where a pilot begins a trip at one satellite airport (BWI for example) and is scheduled to finish his flying at another airport (DCA), he can advise the crew desk of which side he would like the transportation….this provision does not apply to regular DHs.

That language is in there about the timing, I still don't see where they can deny you deviation at the front of the trip.

I deviate on both front and back of trips. I call the crewdesk and ask to deviate, they say okay and it shows fake in your scheduled trip. I always have a flight picked out and set up through employee res already using the dh dev part. Then call Psc and they approve it and go back to res no pick my positive space seat. Takes maybe 5 minutes total and have done it sometimes 2 weeks out. Much better than it used to be. IMO

I'm having this same issue. Picked up a 2 day, deadhead on the front to my home (so I put a fake on it). Want to get positive space home tomorrow instead, and they won't do it. Even though it's within the 48 hours.

Moving a deadhead from one end of a trip to another is a whole different animal than deviating the time and/or location of a scheduled deadhead leg. And while it would be nice for scheduling to make it happen, as they have apparently done in some cases, they are under no obligation to do so.

Have you tried getting the PNR and then go into empRes to change the itinerary? Just thinking out loud here.

it won't work... if you change the city pairs you need new PNR approved. DH Deviation is good one way on the side of your trip that the DH is listed... can't move it on the tail end or vice versa.
