Default Pay Question MPG/PTC/LPV

Hey guys, looking for some clarification. My PTC and LPV are both 45:05. My MPG is 53:40. Plus vacation add pay. So my questions is will I be working for “free” for the first 8 hours if I pick up a trip on a off day off? Thanks in advance.

I just go into Crew Companion and select whatever trip I'm thinking about picking up in that first step of the Create Pickup process. Your pay summary on the bottom right of the screen should apply all of the rules, and then reflect the changes to your pay if you complete the pickup. That seems easier to me than trying to make sense of what the contract says.

Yes, you will be working for free until your LPV exceeds MPG.

There's a chart on how to bid in the bid packages every month, depending on a 30/31 day month, and how many weeks of vacation you have you generally have to bid on PBS for around 76/78 hrs of credit for 7 vacation days, and around 85 hrs of credit for 14 days. The chart shows how many vacation days vs days in bid period to not work for free. Unfortunately once your line is awarded, it is what it is.

Another way to thinking of it is that you're already being paid for 8:35 that you aren't flying so, if you pick up extra flying/overs, you won't be paid any MORE for the first 8:35.

Your right working for free is stupid, but you don't need to, just be careful to bid the correct line credit if you plan to pick up in a vacation month. I think the other guy was saying he should look at it like he's getting 8 hrs for nothing now, just maxing days off and taking the lower line value.

Hell yes this needs to be fixed! We need to get rid of the ability to pickup trips on days off during a vacation month!

For Christ’s sake, take some time off and get a life
