8-10 years for upgrade at SWA. If you want to upgrade faster (in NB and depends on base) UAL will probably get you there faster.

SWA for more days off
UAL for less legs flown. Also SWA for scheduling flexibility. |
SWA or UAL?

Guys that were hired in this latest wave should have substantially lower upgrade time. Probably in the 5-7 year range presuming we stick with the numbers being thrown out. |

Uh, no max 8’s. -9’s and -10’s though.
Still getting 161 (-1 we just got) and still wish they were airbuses. |

SWA FO pay lags UAL from yr 2-4 and is basically on par after that. I had a UAL interview and declined it since my QOL is great. YMMV
Yr 5 FO at UAL can hold WB making $200/hr. Quite a big difference. |
Tough choices ... good to see these threads back on here again.

You could likely be a 787 or 777 FO in 2 years making $200+ an hour. Or fly the 737 your entire career if that’s what you’re into. Either way They are both good jobs.

Or Monday...

How come it’s going down to 2nd year? Are you guys expanding widebody flying that much?
