I went to Apple.com and looked for student discounts. The fine print says its for students, teachers and parents of students. Well, I have a kid in school. It's only $20, but $20 is now in my pocket. Besides Jersey took it's share via tax.

No, I did not represent myself. Fine print in offer says deal is extended to "parents of students". I'm a parent of a student. Also not an '83 or '85 hire. I was in the Military back then serving my country. I was letting my fellow "APC's" know that they could save a few bucks.

Actually if your a veteran or active duty, google that and Apple and it will take you to a mil/fed employee discount page which is the exact same prices as the "student/educator" page.

Thanks for the information. That’s good to know. Every penny counts when you get to keep it.

Unfortunately, I live on the boarder on NJ/NYC... The closest Apple store is WTC. De Blasio has higher taxes than Jersey, so I caved and handed Jersey $54 over NYC $76 in tax. I did get my kid one and had it delivered to Portland (No tax) and saved on his.
