Years ago I overheard Lee Atwater tell a staffer (angrily ... Which after my very brief exposure to him was normal) that "the voter doesn't tell us what the issues are ... They aren't smart enough to know ... We tell them what the issues are". May that arse-hole toss and turn in the grave. My brief low level work in the Republican party during and right after college caused me to open my eyes and then take off the rose colored glasses. |

Minimum wage..... if either party really "cared" about a minimum wage they would have indexed the rate to inflation in 1938 when they created it at $0.25 an hour. But instead, they like to haul out the issue each election cycle to bludgeon each other with and get out their base voters.
