Not trying to play CAL/UA here, just the managements. Union labor doesn’t make those asinine policies, suites who are trying to save a penny do. |

Pre merger UA a CA simply refused and moved to the next plane. It wasn’t UA management who drove the new company in this direction.

While I understand and appreciate his aim, to boil it down, he's got the big wally for the little jet in order to fill the banks. And as we all know, the RJ has done as much harm to the mainline end the profession as Lorena did to John's junk. Let's revisit this topic in say, five years. Perhaps ten. History has a way of sorting the wheat from the chaff. |

If he had the "Midas Touch", likely American would not have let him go. He knows scope is not for sale. Yet, he keeps pressing the test button. Is that because he's the best addition to UAL in decades or because he just wants to p1$$ off the pilots just for fun? I am not seeing a great track record for him. Wondering why AA let him go? In my thinking...."The best predictor of future performance is past performance." |

I really can't find a good track record for Mr. Kirby. None of the former employers he's had have given him glowing reviews post his departure.

I’ve never heard of anyone with reasonable concerns being pushed into taking an airplane, I’ve called the FODM on a few occasions and received nothing but great help and feedback. I have heard guys refusing an airplane for the ACARS or other trivial items being inop, IMHO that warrants a conference call..... |
