Default The Hits Just Keep on Coming

Looks like another displacement bid is in our near future. LAX 777. I’m not in that category and it’s a very small category, but while our competitors are growing, expanding, and hiring at record levels, we are still contracting. I love working here, but I believe that we are going to feel the fact that we haven’t really expanded while the times are good for us to do so. I truly believe that this is going to haunt us for a while. Discuss...

I'm disappointed by Kirby's lack of commitment to LAX. American has to be #2 there behind Delta. He should recognize its significance as an important (if fragmented) national hub. So why after he jumps ship from there to here do we not have bigger plans for LAX in the offing??

This is form wikipedia.

Largest Airlines at LAX (January to December 2017)[110]
Rank Airline Passengers Share
1 American Airlines 15,924,844 18.83%
2 Delta Air Lines 14,084,978 16.66%
3 United Airlines 11,987,295 14.18%
4 Southwest Airlines 9,899,630 11.71%
5 Alaska Airlines 3,651,118 4.32%

In all honesty SFO is more important and more can be done with it.

I don’t think Kirby lacks commitment to lax, he’s just having to deal with the reprucusions of small sac giving up the 60 gates. He wants terminal 9.

If you can't grow it then shrink it. Right?

It’s actually ok because capacity will remain the same: the 777s will be replaced by 50-seat RJs at a ratio of 6:1
