Why did it uses to take a full week for results to come out but now it's the same day?

What we're they doing before? Just f'ing with us?

Hopefully this shows that they are motivated to do more!!!

Unfortunately, the first step in more will be the LAX 777 displacement/closing. I think they get their desired result from the vacancy bid though, since now every LAX 777 FO can hold LAX 787 FO. All the 777 Captains could already hold it, so anybody that wants to stay in LAX and just go to the 787 can just change over with a fabulous fun filled 12 day training class.

I would expect many new hires for a while to get the west coast for a base ...

99% (g-line) 777 FO or narrow body CA? Thats an interesting dilemma. We're at the point where holding a line on the wide body is the same seniority as holding CA. That means we have nearly 6000 pilots bypassing upgrade??

Sounds about right 50% of the list bypassing the left seat.

That is still one of the best parts of this gig.

I know of no other job where you can make North of the 6 figures, pass up a "promotion", have them offer it again, pass up a "promotion", have them offer it again, pass up a "promotion" ...... and keep having them offer it to you until you are ready to take it or finish your career in your current seat.

Any other job making this kind of money, you might get a second chance at a "promotion" and if you say no the second time, you are done getting the offer. (maybe even let go!)

One man's garbage is another man's gold is definitely on display during vacancy bid season. The ability to balance your work life, with your family life, with your personal desires is pretty amazing (especially in the good times we are in right now) and really makes the situation better for all participants.

Because 88 hours with 18 days off is hard to do on a narrowbody, and pretty close to standard on a triple.

I also wonder if they are going to get some folks assigned into June Training that got this bid and they wanted to get them assigned before PBS closes!!!

Bingo. Why would I take a pay cut to wear a fourth stripe and sit reserve? I’m shocked to see some of the folks bailing off of the 777/787. Get ready to fly more in a month than many of us do in a year. To each their own. Back to perfecting that golf swing. 😉
