No, I meant very little. Unless it changes again, winter, the 767 gets CDG. Although this winter it may be going to the 787.

Depending on what part of the FOM or contract you look, Hawaii could be considered international. The FA's do.

Paris went to the 787 in winter of 2016 and 777 in the summer. The 767 ended CDG in JAN of 16’.

Well, I stand corrected, and that sucks....sorry. I guess you'll always have OGG.

I'm still waiting for a class, but just curious as to which is better for east coast commuters (which I'll be)--EWR 737s or A320s?

737 ewr has more open time for trading days off/commutability, less LGA (can change), and great flying.

Thanks--that's what I thought based on some older threads, but wasn't sure if it still held true.

EWR 737 also went super senior this last class...may not get the option, so don’t get too locked in on a specific base/equipment.
Bid what you want to fly (acft) - not necessarily the base you want to fly out of...
But with all this planned movement, the 8-ball will probably be holding 320CA in 3 years...

(if you believe the rumors)

Keep in mind the Bus has a boatload of trips (at least 50% in recent months) of 30+ hour layovers, which I personally find absolutely horrific, but work well for commuters (I don’t). For example, start your trip late afternoon on day one, and end up in XYZ late. Then you have the whole next day off, with an OMYGOD:30 departure on day three and finish mid afternoon. The Bus tends to be more junior in EWR as well, and you MAY move up the list faster to a line. But the trip mix on the Guppy is better for sure. I have flown both and personally feel the Bus is a more “gentlemanly” airplane (roomier, quieter, doesn’t have space shuttle re-entry speeds on final, etc), but I don’t want to turn this into a “Bus vs Guppy” thing. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. FYI, I’ve been here 5 years and switched to the Bus about 3 years ago for better seniority. I’m currently around 10-15% on the Bus, but I’d still be in the mid-40%-ish range on the Guppy. Seniority is everything!!

Great point! I'm sure it depends on the class somewhat, but what is the upper range of seniority in classes? I'm probably not the oldest, but after just retiring from the AF, I'm guessing I wouldn't be below the middle either. Lots will change between now and my date, just trying to gain some knowledge... With kids in HS (and wanting to stay a commuter until they are all done) quality of life is higher than aircraft at the moment.

Out of a class of 25, you’d probably pick between #5-10. Oldest guys usually the RJ Capts that we’re stuck in pergatory.

Basically on the June 4/5 class pretty much every unfilled slot from the last vacancy bid was available. For those considering the 756 as a new hire out of SFO or LAX, don't do it!, unless you live in base and really want to fly the 757. There is basically no 767 flying out of those bases so the pay is almost exactly the same as the 737/320. The categories are also much smaller so less variety of flying, less opportunity to trade, and your seniority will be lower than it would be on the 737/320. There is almost nothing better about the 756 except the aircraft itself is better to fly than the 737. You can always bid up to the 756 later, but it's better to get some seniority on the 737/320 and wait until you can hold 777 or 787 somewhere.
