Does she get butt-hurt when you call it a guppy?

I'd recommend stepping away from the keyboard and actually reading whats been written before making any more of your uninformed observations.

On a happier note, just finished a great 4 day trip with this very professional and diverse individual and couldn't have been happier. 'Course I had to scold her for wearing the incorrect uniform tie but other than that, easy peasy.

It’s sad she doesn’t fly anymore. I actually know this person, she is a good pilot.

What kind of plane is that with all those “switches “ on the overhead, and those mismatched panels up there to?

4. Qualified people

The above list seems accurate. You should also add:

1. Diversity is first requirement
2. Politically Correct special interests
3. Whatever looks good for the public image
4. Marginally qualified

I fly with a fair amount of new guys and I have yet to run across one who wasn’t ex-military or had years of experience as an RJ captain. If “whatever looks good for the public image” means not hiring grossly obese pilots.....I’m all for it.

This wasn't even a thing in 1990. My Dad hand carried in my application package. With 5200 hours of military flight time, 2000 in DC-9s all I got was a TBNT letter.

Of course, that was when the EEOC hiring was in full swing.

So if any of this crap was true why the heck do we see the “special interest” groups even working at a regional they should just take their wet ticket straight to the top, right. Why is the industry 98% white males. The numbers don’t lie you do. If it makes you feel better please feel free to vent but I would be more concered with the fact that 98% of the people that look like me do get the job. I guess it’s just something wrong with you.

This is a United thread, and United has over 7% female pilots, so your argument is already invalid. With that said, I don’t care what flavor of the human race is hired, I believe in treating everyone equally. That includes not giving preference to a person who fits a demographic over someone who will ensure brand protection until their retirement.

I am straight up saying that United has missed the boat on many many highly qualified individuals, girls, boys, white, black, whatever other division humans have made, etc., who were too busy managing a flight operation, or picking up trash in their community, or testing and certifying new equipment with the FAA, or raising scholarship money for underprivileged college students, or earning a post graduate degree, or taking care of a special needs child, etc., to attend a costly job fair on the opposite coast.
