Children of Current Employees
Do children of United Employees get hired with under competitive minimums typically or lack of minimum qualifications (no ATP, college degree, etc)?
Or is the real only benefit a guaranteed interview? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
None of the above.
There are no guaranteed interviews for family members and an ATP is the current FAA minimum for every airline pilot in the country. Virtually all new hires of all backgrounds have degrees. |
The order, in priority order, of who gets hired:
1. People who look good on billboards and in magazines 2. People who look good on billboards 3. People who look good in magazines 4. Qualified people |

Or is the real only benefit a guaranteed interview? In Nov there’s a UAL fair for family members. I wouldn’t assume attendance will even come close to guaranteeing an interview. ESPECIALLY with a lack of published requirements. |
Son of a 32 year United employee. Had a nice meet and greet with ORD CP late last year. Waiting for hogan email still.
Captain at a regional, meet united hiring mins, have college degree from UND |

Appreciate the responses. This was more out of curiosity since I knew United use to have a mentor program with the interview back before the merger.

This is total BS.
I'd recommend stepping away from the keyboard and actually reading whats been written before making any more of your uninformed observations. On a happier note, just finished a great 4 day trip with this very professional and diverse individual and couldn't have been happier. Tie? What tie?
