Contract days off minimum is 10. Its only 12 for reserves and line building. Lineholders can pick up trips and only have 10 days off.

Yeah, I’ve only averaged 110 hours a month since Jan.
Yup, I was thinking scheduled. Still works out to 12.1 hours a day. So unless said 242 hour credit got trips worth 6+ hours per day for the entire month, still not buying it when the average credit per day is around 5.3 for NB fleet. |

So, its not impossible to reach that brass ring. And the guys holding weekends off, the ones who can pick up the 100% trips in the seniority window, or are at the top of the SRM list are not holding average credit lines to start with, they're working down to Aruba and deadheading back for 10+ credit a day. |

Roger that. 110 a month is bush btw, certainly nothing to brag about in the players club.

Imagine you have a four-day, 24 credit hour trip on your schedule, SRM comes along, they buy it so you can cover a three-day, 18 credit hour trip. You're banking 42 hours for three days work; six hours of work for seven hours of pay, per day. Times two, of course. And that rolls one of your 'off days' into a 'paid day'. If things line up just right you might end up with more than 12 days at home - and getting paid for all of them.

I enjoy my days off, that’s maintaining 15-16 off. It’s enough to plow into my PRAP and savings in my effort to have the option to retire as soon as possible. It’s a marathon not a sprint.
Done the SRM with conflict, highest I’ve ever heard of was a notorious EWR cap I flew with that banked 190 working his ass off. Anyone on the gup knows him. I’ve flown with the hustlers, never once heard of any of them getting conflict multiple times in a month or breaking 200 hours. I credited 79 hours in 5 days this week btw. Pull out your calculator and figure that one out. |
For June and July I only flew 2 trips that weren't PPU, reassignment add pay, or some sort of busted pairing with deadhead deviations on same day I could swing. If not for some circumstances last month that had me home instead of hustling, I could have legit cleared 35k+. Perhaps 40k, but I quit counting. I'm on 3rd yr pay, and no embellishments whatsoever. I have not seen it like this in my 3 years here, and I have to assume the mentality from the company is to just get through August and things will settle down. As it stands right now though, the can keeps getting kicked down the road in some categories triggering those drops with conflict. Was like this a couple years ago at Delta actually, and at first I was all googly eyed with the stories from my bros. Then after seeing this place for the first 2 years I thought they were standard pilot embellishments... Not this year though. On the one hand, I guess a squirrel should try to get as many nuts as he can when the gettins good, but I'd rather have the company hire properly and sit back with 70hrs and 18days off. For those who are willing to hump it though, a senior NB FO living within an hour of a new hire base can probably do some serious w2 damage.
I think we're on the cusp of some solid seniority list expansion. Fingers crossed for the future, but right now this growth plan is working. |

You can do that now!! Its not based on the companies hiring plans. Its what your priorities are. And I guess right now the squirrel is trying to acquire as many nuts as possible!! No need to feel bad! ;)
So, if the company staffs up properly, it'll create more seats in higher paying cats, like capt and WB fo. Additionally, it won't force the LPA up so high. I haven't seen a PBS award less than 85 hrs in a year. Last month, 90 freakin hours. And I can't just fly 70 hours if i want to, that would mean we'd have reserve coverage allowing me to drop. I've seen the pool display negative before the 24th even hits so how we doing there. If you saw my w2 for the last 2 years, you'd know I'm not the squirrel type. My ideal world would be a 70hr 18 day off pbs award of which we could drop and trade. Go up to 90 if you want, but don't award me 90 from the get go with "no coverage" available to do a thing about it. |

Yeah, so, you haven't thought much about my statement. Gotta love APC though, home of the immediate spears for anyone not like themselves.

Certainly not Oscar. |
I don’t think this summer is the new norm. We didn’t hire last year and now they are paying for it. But we have every sim filled now for the foreseeable future. Last summer was nothing like this, and I’ll be it calms down once more bodies hit the line.
