Having said that and since scope isn’t for sale, the company could consider something like the A220 for us, which would allow more 76 seat rj’s for the regionals. Either way I wouldn’t expect any changes soon. The company understandably doesn’t want to make a major purchase without knowing the operating cost. Being that scope isn’t going to get any better for the company there is no need to have a contract by the amendable date and therefore those cost won’t be known for a while. On a positive note, when those cost are finally known the backlog will be huge and we still won’t feel rushed to get pilots trained.

Can’t find pilots at the regionals
They offer up to 300 % overtime that mainline will pay for it, bonus, and restricted to 70 seat no good

For all the reasons above, it is more lucrative to fly the 175s with a nice order of 50 E2s at mainline.. see Delta B717

United has 75 leased out and with this 25 will make it 100 and another 50 E2s or 195 new whatever they call that E2 I think Bingo $$$$

Reasonable blend rate to get them on the property
Goal of UAL ALPA i think

I rather commute on a E175 than a sardine can with double or triple the number of sardines.

Now if it’s a CRJ, that’s a different story....

I hope you’re right. But I doubt UAL will want to bring the E1 version back to mainline from the regionals.

You must not commute, or you’d never have this opinion.

You must live way out in the sticks where the locals don’t travel, like Nome AK, to make a comment like that. Business class seat on RJ?! Yup, way out there.

Oh I live the commuting life. It’s all I know, unfortunately. I’ve never lived in base.

Are you a mainline pilot or are you just high?

I'll take three 70 seaters before noon VS one mainline @ 06:00.
