5000 for business is losing money. I searched a bunch of dates and a bunch of city pairs. It is a catastrophe.

IND to SNA makes a bunch of money. ORD or SFO to China loses a bunch. I don't know how long this has gone on. I don't know how long it will continue. AMR cried uncle. When will we?

The lowest I saw was 335$ from ORD to PVG. The high was less than 600$.
I guess you know the break even point in fares. Awesome.

Don’t think we are going to cry uncle on any of our ORD-Asia routes anytime soon. Both Kirby and Quayle (SVP, network) expressed optimism and enthusiasm regarding AMR’s announcement (ORD) and both seem extremely bullish about growth and stability. This as of Tuesday when they spoke at the FTC in DEN. Asia market was discussed but not in a negative way. In fact, the 777 on Guam NRT returning was used as an example of not giving up market share if we don’t have to. We already pulled out of some China markets where we were losing our shirts. There was no hinting of continuing to do so. All but said to expect more 787 orders (no timeline and probably to replace 767 aircraft if eco omg remains strong) as well as how much they love the 777-300 and the next gen 777 product. I’d expect an order for more 777’s as well (8X or whatever it is). They discussed a missed opportunity to get our hands on some 777-200LR aircraft and that we have to wait on some new route announcements (extreme long haul) until the next gen 777 was in our fleet. Denver new long haul route expected to be announced by the end of next week (probably earlier).
