What??? No international widebody growth in ORD or IAH? I’m shocked.
|
So how many bodies does this equate to for SFO?

Take a look at the dates of the new stuff (not AKL or AMS). It doesn’t start till December 2019. Not gonna see that in bid for a while.

Current Staffing plus bid 19-05, I presume.
Since MEL is only 3 days a week, I figure together these must be 12-15 Captains and 35-45 FOs. SFO-DEL is longer than EWR-DEL, which means there is a very good chance that it will need 2 CA and 2 FO. If that is the way it is staffed it would mean more Capts and less FOs than that guess. I am curious to see if we are getting some 787-9s in the Fall of 19 to cover these flights. The orders recently said 2020, but maybe we are accelerating some deliveries. |
By then the new SouthWest terminal should be done, and we will take a few more gates. But the front 70's gates will close for renovation about the same time. So, no new space.
What gates will we operate this stuff from? We are out of gates now....long range planning, a joke. Nice to see the expansion, but as usual, the devil is in the details. |
