Default Requal 3 Question (756)

Headed from the left seat of the Guppy back to the 756.

I'm trying to figure out if I get the full course or the "firehose" version.

(Either is fine, just curious!)

Looking at the Requalification 3 Overview language, it says:

3 months through 24 months after the last day of the CQ grace month, and have less than 300 hours in the airplane.

That one doesn't apply, I've been gone just over that amount.

More than 24 months through 60 months after the last day of the CQ grace month, and have 300 hours or more on the airplane.

It would appear that one applies to me, as I flew the jet 80 hours a month for six years. But it has this underneath:

Note: One half of FO time may count toward Captain time to a max of 150 hours.

That would *seem* to exclude me as I have no time in the 756 left seat, but the note's language makes no sense because the two bullet points say nothing about seat, just airplane.

Anybody?

Also, anyone willing to PM me the hourly blended rate for 12+ year 756 reserve Captain, I'd be much obliged.

Thanks!

If you have never flown Captain on the 756 you will get full school
Blended rates can be found in FT, Flight, ops, UPA updates

Thanks. But then how do "career" guppy FO's who've never been Captain on anything here go through the short nine day footprint?

I really appreciate the blended rate shortcut - that's the first time I've see it.

For anybody interested, it's:

Flying Together > Flight Ops Homepage > Flight Operations Resource Center > UPA Updates Page >> Blended Rates

I’m not aware of anyone doing that type of 9 day school. Was that a legacy Cal thing?
Not at UAL, all three Captain schools I’ve done were full course, even though I had been FO on that equipment prior.

No, we do this right now. Look under B757 767 > Training Material > Requalification 3 > Page i. (7/161)

It's ambiguous.

If you were never qualified as a 756 Capt, how can you be “requalified”?
Let us know if you get a 9 day course.

I can only give my opinion based on my personal upgrade experience.

You are going from 737 left seat back to the right seat of the 756? Then you’d get a requal on the 756. If you are going from the left seat of the 737 to a left seat on the 757 and you’ve never been
a 757 captain before you will be going through a full 757 transition foot print.

If that exists I’ve never heard of it. My guess is that you are reading the requal syllabus incorrectly.

Got it. That's what I was hoping for. I think you're right in that I misread the requal intent.
