Everyone can calm down now. It’s not that big of a deal!! Man, some of you would complain if you were hung with a new rope! 🙄🙄

I don’t mind the basic pilot uniform pictured but some of the alternate ones are atrocious, that maternity one is terrible

Not a fan of the purple, everything else (pilot-wise) is fine. Navy jacket and pants, white shirt...same old same old. Of the literally millions of colors available why are we copying DAL? Not a way to set yourself apart IMHO.

Make sure everyone posts a comment on FT. Gotta laugh looks like it's 99% dislike versus less than 1% like.

Purple tie? What were they thinking, and furthermore leather jackets have been a part of pilot uniforms for over a century, who in their right mind thinks a purple tie exudes professionalism, but a leather jacket does not? Also thin stripes are not "seen" and do nothing to distinguish a pilot as a pilot. I've worn thin stripes and was mistaken for an FA many times. Never been mistaken as an FA with the broad gold striped uniform.

A goofy purple tie and a rugged and professional looking leather jacket would clash. Now, a vest or a hipster form fitting windbreaker, that’s a different story.

I just pulled up the FOM to look at the uniform appearance section. I thought that the ALPA tie was approved, but it seems that only the pink tie and Christmas tie are approved. Oh well. If guys can wear cowboy boots and leave their hats at home now, I guess I can go buy an ALPA tie if they don’t change this. Both pilot and flight attendant responses have been almost exclusively negative. My guess is that just like the lottery bonus proposal that was a flop, this too will be sent back to he drawing board. There goes a few more million dollars down the drain.

You needed a smile today.

I liked your choice... Till I saw the "Confetteroni."

"Confetteroni" will be for the cabin crew! We're going to be so hip!

Per the UAL chief pilot, ALPA ties are approved for LEC and LEC committee chairs. Just ask Larry. He was graciously informed by the chief pilot.

Also, what did the Braniff uniforms look like? Any purple in them? Maybe we'll be getting Braniff style paint jobs with the rebranding.

That purple tie needs to be stopped immediately. Every one of my friends I’ve shown this to, two of which are GS made fun of how I will look. Pretty pathetic color choice for a professional aviator. It needs to be changed.

I don’t know who Larry is, and it sounds like I’m the lucky one. Thanks for the information on the tie though. We have an out.

I don’t see the need in all of this rebranding business. I really don’t care about either legacy. If they want me to be a motivated employee they should run a good company where employees aren’t worried or mad all of the time, pay me well, and give a uniform where I don’t feel like a clown at work. I would have settled for a coin toss during the merger and just going with blue or black. Spending millions that could go to aircraft orders, a new contract, or profit sharing isn’t doing it for me.
