I just received my CJO on 03/14! From looking at posts from the past few months, it’s been about two months from CJO to indoc, so I’m reasoning that I COULD be in class mid/late-May. Does UA slow down on training during the summer? I know things are fluid, I’m just trying to get a rough idea. It still doesn’t seem real to me to be here!

Congrats SDP08!!!! It's good to hear they're looking at us Corporate guys. My background is exactly the same. I check all the boxes, have attended the Hiring Expo, 2 CP Meet & Greet, 8 Internal recs, but still no invites

I've heard United will be not running any more vacancy bids until the fall. Will this mean no new hire classes since they are staffed with unfilled vacancies?

The company stated with the Summer 2019 manpower plan in place there will be no more
vacancy bids for at least two to three months. These initial future vacancies will be primarily for
the Summer 2020 plan and associated Fall 2019 training load. Additionally, a portion of these
vacancy driven transition courses will be utilized this summer to help train new instructors. This
initial step is in preparation for the forecast fall increase in training demand. We expect to also
see further unfilled awards created for New Hires and Returning Pilots.
February and March NH/FR classes continued at 3 classes per month, however, were slightly
larger in size with 40 pilots per class, rather than the original plan of 30. In addition, the
company added two more classes in April, and will most likely have at least one or two classes
a month beyond that timeframe. Additional classes will likely be announced approaching each
bid period as the manpower need and/or training availability is determined.
The unfilled vacancies off of the most recent bid (184 total) will expire at the end of May. I would figure we will have a bid at the beginning of May to create unfilled vacancies that they can then use for the summer classes they are looking to create. Don't know how many that will be, but figure they are going to want to fill any of those classes that they can with New Hires rather than folks from the line.
Then prob another bid in the July timeframe (and continuing thereafter) to really start the training for the Fall and Winter

Waiting for a slot to open with a class invite but no available dates. Hoping it's an Apr30 or early May opportunity. Can't wait to begin with my favorite #1 company. Let's hope this gravy train keeps pouring good flavor'd stuff.
Mil-Career Navy Fighters, 3000+ hours. 500+ arrestments, Safety off qual'd, Special Ops commander, Lots of combat time (no one cares).
Best of luck to all applicants. Keep the press on and press early!
United will take the top Airline slot in the coming decade. Bet on it!
