Interesting. Was hoping for better news of course. It is what it is though.

Yeah but did the CP actually recommend him? The meeting doesn't help your app unless he uses one of his allotted recs for you. Each CP may meet a dozen or more guys every month but only gets to reco 1-2 of those. Getting in the door is the easy part, it's still highly competitive once you get in there. To the OP good luck and hopefully he gives you a rec!

There is a big difference between a M&G and a silver bullet. Just because you get a M&G does NOT mean you also get a silver bullet. CP’s only have so many a year. I was very fortunate that a friend of mine did a M&G and then received one of the CP’s silver bullets. He got the email for the Hogan 2 weeks later. So there is a difference. M&G will generally get you a letter of rec from that CP. But to be clear that does not guarantee you anything. It probably holds as much weight as a job fair to be honest. Silver bullet is a different animal and is not given for every candidate doing a M&G.

It NEVER was a “silver bullet”.

When I, and bunch of my friends did ours it made VERY CLEAR in the verbal disclaimer BEFORE any of the talking started.

To answer another guy’s question. A friend of mine M&G’d in August, interviewed December, in class in March a while back.

I’ve heard it moves you from the huge pile to the small pile. Only problem is, people can keep moving into the small pile where you are and if their stats are better, they will move above you in the small pile and get a call first. You could theoretically hang out in the small pile and never get called....

Good luck!

Was at NGPA today. They basically said that it’s just another thing added to some algorithm they use. They mentioned algorithms several times...

Question regarding what to wear. In an email from CPO it says that business casual is preferred... With that said, would one recommended to wear a suit and a tie?

I would go with business casual like the email said. On those rare occasions that IAD CP is around for those 2 hours from 10-12...he is always just in a shirt and tie.

Wear something nice that you feel comfortable in. Nothing wrong with a tie and blazer.

I recently had a meet & greet with a UAL CP. The meeting went well I thought and he wrote me a LOR on Airline Apps. Aside from this, is there anything else they do that will help to flag your application in DEN? Is this what they mean when they say they have a "certain allotment" each month?
