Time to IAH

How long does it take for an FO to hold IAH on either the 737 or 320 these days?

It appears that 320 FO went to some fairly new hires on the bid that just closed, so I'd guess within a year currently. I just transferred to IAH on the 320 and am only at about 70% seniority there after being with company for 4 years. It's a very very senior base with little to no movement or growth in all seats and fleets.

I know a late Jan 18 hire who made it into IAH for the Jan 19 bid month (737). Hiring has picked up since, so I'd expect somewhat faster so long as it holds up. Best case scenario is perhaps six months on either aircraft. Worst case is well over a year.

I held IAH 737 FO on the February vacancy bid and still haven't been activated.I think the Max going down may have something to do with the delay. If they wait to the effective date of June 30th it will have be a year to get to IAH.

I think I counted 4 IAH FOs that moved from that seat this bid (mostly to bigger right seats). That, and IAH is at max staffing right now for 73 FOs. Thus, no movement in on the 73 without growth. I may be bidding 320 to get home before I can hold it on the 73 (already looking like a year min and it’s a two year seat lock on first plane).

Odd, the same day that the thread starter started this thread, s/he asked how long it takes to get ATL on the Southwest forum. https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/s...-time-atl.html

Not exactly two domiciles in the same zip code.

No but could be one spouse’s family lives in Houston and one in Atlanta and they are trying to decide between the two. Or they just could be trolling

Or I live somewhere between the two.
