Not sure where you’re going with that one Joesph?

I meant it would be hard to be taken seriously dressed in a clown suit, it’s not just about money.

Amen Brother. I'd dust of my clown suit and don it as long as my paycheck clears every month.

Maybe you missed how many comments were on here and FT, it’s obviously an issue people care about because it’s how they look every day on the job. But maybe you don’t care about that in your Walmart sandals with tall white socks on while you rant about needing the contract to be done yesterday.

I’ve already submitted my wish list to the negotiating committee, filled out the surveys, I read every update on where negotiations are going, I’ve sent extra emails to continue showing support to not give an inch on scope, and after yesterdays update it sure sounds like that is getting listened to since they have made no progress on that section.
But if you want to resort to name calling, have at it if it makes you feel better. I’ll feel a lot better for the years to come not wearing what I considered a purple clown suit and will actually end up in something that IMO doesn’t diminish the look of the profession.

It’s a joke Joe, nothing more than that.

Yeah Dork was Not called for but your first post had hints of Uniform Police that doesn’t sit well with me. I’ll wear whatever they provide and don’t care. If that puts me in your previously described “pathetic standards” group, so be it.

Dork nomenclature withdrawn and apologized for.

Does one have to sign up to be a member of the Pathetic Standards group or is admission earned? Are there standards that need not be adhered to or is the program just generally lax and disheveled? I already wear a clip-on tie so that ought to count for something.

All good, I am far from any uniform police, I just don’t want to wear a purple clown suit and would have never worn that tie. Our profession is supposed to be just that, professional. We were being made to look pathetic with the purple color scheme and take away from our long standing history as professionals with the look some office dwelling fashionista came up with that doesn’t belong. That’s my opinion and apparently a whole lot of others opinion as well given the amount of comments and disgust for the proposed changes.

Pathetic standards. Ha.

Okay, but why can’t you BOTH receive commensurate compensation AND not have to wear something ridiculous like a “chicken suit”?

I don’t understand the mentality that it has to be one or the other. Just because people care about the look of their uniforms, doesn’t mean there’s any impact to compensation.

Looks like someone listened to the 1000,0000,0000 complaints

I only see that the lining of the blazer will be blue with purple piping (whatever that means), and the suit won’t have a purple tint. The only mention about the tie that I see is that it will be standard width. My guess is that it is still purple. Those in charge seem to be hung up on purple being somewhere in the uniform. I hope I’m wrong though.

It’s not all or nothing, you’re right. I just have a long list of things I care about more than the uniform redesign.

I find it pretty illuminating how difficult change is for some people in our industry of constant change.

Click the number 1 when it gets to the tie. It reads:

The predominant color has changed from premium purple to Rhapsody Blue.
