University of North Dakota - Ode to a Scab
And there it is folks. This guy thinks he’s a “ rugged individualist”. Laughable if it wasn’t so sad. You have the pay, work rules, and an army of people who are in committees to protect and better the job we have through union representation. Get yourself into some training jeopardy, see how much “nothing” the training committee provides. Have a medical issue and see how much “nothing “ alpa aeromedical provides. Have an issue with another employee and see how much “nothing” pro stans provides. If you’re such a hot shot solo operator, go work for a non represented pilot group and report back how it goes. You’re a fool if you think for one second that you, individually, have anything to to with our pay and standard of living. It is through our collective resolve that we maintain some fairness in the management/labor balance of power.
Octa....another “Super Pilot” like Scab Lacy. Here’s a recommendation for you.....try corporate aviation, you’ll fit in perfectly, you can hob knob with the ego maniacs & ass kiss them right up to the time they fire you.

Agree with the other posters. No.
Clay Lacy was one of the worst. He can't really claim ignorance for scabbing. He did it knowingly, and to gain advantage over his fellow pilots. He did it again with the, my birthday was wrong, family bible trick. Very low class.
The labor movement has been dealt many setbacks in the last few decades, so many do not fully realize the extent of the harm of a scab. Both to the individual, and to the group in lack of unity---which directly leads to bargaining power. Double whammy, scabs not only try to take your job, but weaken your bargaining position and your pay check.

No, not really. Scabbing is one of those activities where the perp relies on the natural human tendencies for tolerance and forgetfulness in the long run. Don't play along.
Labor unity (or disunity) is sliding spectrum. This kind of extreme example serves as a reminder to all to take care where you fall on the spectrum.
