Rumor is he offered a 10% raise @ signing + 3/4/3/4 4 year deal. Pensions back. No furlough clause. Hiring 1000 a year for 10 years. Improvements in sick time, LTD better then Delta. However he wants scope. So forget it

The rumor mill is entertaining. Hopefully any such offers just receive a polite “no thanks” from the negotiating committee.

That’s funny right there.

I think the company’s idea of “pensions back” is probably nothing like our idea of “pensions back.”

What does “he wants scope” even mean? We are fighting both ends here.

My guess is that he wants as many 70 seaters as Delta has without having to buy another fleet type like Delta did.

I bet that they can get some really cheap max 7’s when this fiasco is over. Can’t you just see the adds now...... Fly United, proud owner of the world’s largest max fleet. We’ll make millions.

This is my guess as well. I believe Boeing is going to want to "hide" as much of the payment for the Max debacle as possible, and one way they will do that is give steep discounts on aircraft purchases. We have a good number of 787s coming which could be discounted, but I am sure they would love to spread those discounts over a large max 700 order.

As this ties to our scope section, remember, between operating aircraft and used ones coming we currently have :

106-A319s (68 operating, 11 in mod, 27 waiting induction)
61-737/700s (40 operating, 1 in mod, 20 waiting induction)

We need to ensure in the new contract that the floor of the current 167 aircraft is maintained before any formula starts adding even one 70/76 seater. If not, we will see a ten year replacement of aircraft with a NSNB at mainline, but growth of the 70/76 seat fleet at express. Right now they could buy 100 E195-E2s and use them as replacements for the aging 319s and 737/700s over the coming years, but still get credit for enough NSNB aircraft to expand the 70/76 seat fleet to the size of Deltas.

Of the 5700+ max orders, approx 80 are for the Max-7 (30 of the 80 are for SWA)...its the least ordered of the 4 variants.

Worlds largest max fleet is scheduled to be Lion Air with order for 400+

Shack. We better see DAL work rules at a minimum. And LTD. And WB manning, and life insurance. And. And....

They have more 70+ seaters than us but far, far fewer total RJ’s to boot.
