Any word from TK about what they expect for the Max? Boeing says that it will probably be certified mid year, United says that it won’t fly this summer, and then a day or two later the FAA says it could return sooner. Being that we have committed heavily to the Max, are we picking up orders that other airlines drop? Hindsight is sure 20/20 on this deal. I was originally a fan of the Max, but now I really wish we had gone with the NEO.

but you still can’t resist the urge to log in and comment on the posts. Hypocrite is the word that comes to mind. Like I said, nobody forces you to read anything here.
There is some good info here. Not from Mitch , but from some. That took me 10 seconds. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Just had CQMV a couple of days ago. Instructor had no real info about expectations but he did tell us that the first MAX FTD is installed and ready to go but the FAA will not certify it due to the plane being grounded.

How do you certify that a simulator accurately matches the airplane when we don’t know yet how the aircraft will be equipped, function, etc.?
On the other hand....I was wondering why a specific FTD is needed for the max? I thought FTD's are just used for procedures and flows; cockpit familiarization stuff. MCAS or software really shouldn't come into play for a flight training device? Just curious about that..... |

You're right. No way to really simulate what has or hasn't been agreed to by the engineers and regulators.
