Are you one of those modern guys with the "Telly Savalas" look.

Back in the day, when Tom Selleck was young, many "hated the hat" because it messed up their coiffure.

Some of us need the hat to cover our "bed head" when we get up from the bunk on an international flight.
The rest of us could care less and they pay very well to wear the hat.

Actually, they pay us for our skill set, not because we 'wear the hat'.
That being written, I get that it's in our FOM to wear the hat yet there are also tons of other nice little nuggets in there that some don't follow.

FS, FP & FtC
Motch

PS) How about a new contract vs. new uniforms?!

Yup, if I had my A plan, I'd wear a hat...

I'm willing to bet that people who want to wear the hat is somewhere in the single digit percentage range.

I seriously don’t like the hat either!! I look like a skycap! 🙄But I wear it simply because of one premise: I expect the company to follow the contract and the company expects me to follow their rules. When the status quo changes, that’s a different debate.

You take yourself to seriously. Skilled men flew these airplanes long before you and I were even a dream, and skilled men and women will fly them long after we’re gone.

Be thankful you got to be one of them.

Now step up and support your fellow pilots who are negotiating your pay and work rules.

The hat shouldn’t matter to anyone. It is what it is.

Well said! Instead of worrying about the hat we should be worrying about those that are walking around with a slick tie, reaping the benefit of our current contract and whining about no new contract.

So the newest trick the company is pulling...

They are assigning reserve trips on HDO’s and then claiming “they are no longer HDO’s if we assign you a trip.” Apparently some of our newer guys are falling for it.

The company seems to constantly be trying to see what they can get away with in regards to bypassing the contract. The company is not your friend and they will cheat, lie and steal if you let them get away with it.

so don’t “expect” the company to follow contract. You should expect them to try and not follow the contract any chance they can.

If you’ve been here long enough you’d know that. And if you stay here long enough you’ll see it done over and over. I find your “one” premise to be seriously flawed.

They tried this earlier in the month on me. We went round and round. I got my mentor involved and finally they relented.

Now I feel like I have a target on my back for SC’s. I am 4/4 on my last 4 RSV days and they already placed one on my schedule tomorrow. I guess I am paying my dues.

the RSV work rules need work. Long call is a joke
