Which other disease out of China has shut the world down?

 

Great, a China defender. Washington Post employee? Google?

 

And convince Americans to pay more for their Apple products. I for one will be happy to so long as the factories are over here!

 

I would, as well. I try to find things that are specifically NOT made in China, as difficult as it is. I will buy Japanese or South Korean if it is an option. A lot of time it's just not.

I was looking to buy a couple hand-jacks for the home garage a few years ago. Was ready to put down some $$ on Snap-on jacks when, alas, even they were made in China and re-branded. I was able to find one company in the entire U.S. that still made a car jack.

 

Apple makes on average 49% profit on their products. No need for Americans to pay more.

 

Recently watched a NETFLIX documentary special on SARS, and this is what I gathered from it:

The only reason SARS-1 didn't wipe out 10% of the world population is because, luckily, it wasn't considered terribly hardy and fizzled out as quickly as it arrived. It also had some weakness in its ability to securely attach to receptor sites. This one is able to bond more securely. My hope is that this thing fizzles out the same way and as suddenly as SARS-1 since they are both of the same type of SARS virus.

China has a problem with viral breakouts from cultural folk medicinal beliefs about wildlife and freshly killed animals "powering" the body, which is why these different animals are kept together alive in confined spaces defecating all over each other, creating the prime environment for zootonic transmission. The Chinese government and health authorities acknowledged this after SARS-1 and even signed a commitment to the IHR to monitor, prevent, and IMMEDIATELY report, but failed to do so this time and covered it up instead, violating the agreement that was signed by almost 200 countries.

Point being, if they continue to act irresponsibly, this will continue to happen again and again, shutting the world down. This is just a reality. Political Correctness won't change these facts.

Sounds almost as if those Chinese scientists placed at a Canadian lab who stole corona virus and smuggled it back to a Chinese bio lab might have had access to a "lessons learned" or something, so they didn't make the same mistakes this time? Unfortunately, someone wasn't too careful in their handling and safety methodology.

I know. Crazy talk about the glorious CCP. Does anyone actually believe that pretty much every research publication and institution around the world isn't beholden to Chinese research money, seeing as how they are the most prolific publishers of (often bad) research and providers of research funding.

Just ask the head of Harvard's chemistry department. Or should I say former head, seeing as he is likely on his way to prison.

Was it called "Pandemic"? If so, very good. And the timing was incredible. Dr Glanville, the guy on "Pandemic" leading the charge on developing a universal flu vaccine, has been on some of the major networks recently talking about the current world situation.
People like him should be given a medal... and a ton of money to continue working toward solutions. They are some brilliant and dedicated Americans.
