Maybe he put his seat on his plate because “D-Bag” was taken.

The only problem is it’s no where near our quality, plus it’s about $700 more a month. I’m guessing that means we would be ineligible for fund help on top of getting less quality, more expensive insurance? If I’m right, that’s like a swift kick in each nad. Then again a furlough isn’t meant to be fun or profitable for those who get the short straw. Anyone have updated cobra costs for a family of 4?
Basically 2% of total cost United was paying. Fairly expensive, especially for a family of 4. Another option is medishare. Also healthcare market place.

I flew with some 85ers out of LAX. They were good people. I know some have tarnished the 85ers' reputations but it's not all of them.

Thank you. Definitely need to shop around, if and when it may be needed.

Shop around for the most cost effective insurance for you and your family. Your best option may end up being your wife's insurance, but there may well be something else out there that's better.

Make sure you go with a reputable company.

Hopefully not necessary. I’m right at the magic 30% mark, but we are preparing like we’re on the street October 1st. Just signed refinance paperwork today from a 15 year to a 30 year. Bonus was I still lowered my rate by .75%.

I am also concerned about this. It would seem that if our personal status quo was to use the UAL insurance i should be allowed to continue to use the UAL insurance assuming im not working. If I'm forced to use my wife's insurance not only have i lost 100% of my income my wife is now out about 20% of her pay as well. As you stated if this is the case its a double kick in the nuts. I understand there may have been abuse in the past but there needs to be more clarity on who is not eligible. It would also suck to pay into a system (albeit for only a few months), have a legitimate need for that program but not have access to it.

Multiple sclerosis? If so, why that?

In both previous furloughs, you would have been able to get reimbursed for the cost of your wife's premiums. I don't see that changing.
