It’s interesting to me that the pilot group is trying to prevent furloughs and “save” the company. Mechanics, Agents,Caterers, etc...where is everyone else. Demand shrinks, a company shrinks. A hope for market to return? “Hope is not a strategy.”...heard that somewhere before. Delay the likely inevitable of furlough?...bankruptcy? I think we are fooling ourselves in trying to delay the inevitable with what sounds like a division of the group. Furlough sucks. Been there done that twice and maybe a third time. I’ll look over the TA, but from the word on the street?...I like the current contract...even if it doesn’t work out well for me after 20 yrs.

Ready Reserve,

Actually this is a complete FAKE pretending to be another complete FAKE.
One is here on company business, and the other has hopes and dreams of walking in the shoes of our MC or ALPA National President (probably dreaming right now of a senate seat or U.S. Presidential run as well).

So you have a total management stooge here pretending to be a Fake Gardener, who in turn is angry about not being in ALPA leadership and is pretending to be THE Gardener that helped successfully unify UAL pilots against the evil actions of this company.

Yep, doesn't get any more unreal than this stuff right here.
Labor Relations Strategy they call it; you see them on here every time we are voting on an agreement they want to influence.
Let the games begin.

Absolutely not management, and never will be. I like my APU set to "make it snow" when I enter the cockpit. My agenda is clear and irreversible. I have secretly formed a correctly functioning and fully staffed MEC over the last 6 months that is not based upon elections, but rather on merit. As MEC chair, I might permit some LEC's to continue elections on a case by case scenario. Electing representatives has obviously resulted in horrible things, and 97% of the pilot group supports me in this effort. Join my newsletter for more info. We are ready to go, and as soon as the furlough mitigation fails, we are going to take over and fix everything.

This is the time. management is a skeleton, and has been weakened tremendously. They barely have time and the staffing to answer the phone for bagel delivery, and are outsourcing jobs like no tomorrow to inexperienced and brand new overseas offices. They're not going to know how to deal with The Gardener. I promise you a salary and work rules of your dreams.

Winston Churchill once said, "Some men change their party for the sake of their principles; others their principles for the sake of their party.” What he meant by this is that there comes a time in every man's life when great adversity knocks on your door, and each man must re-prioritize his principles and be in the correct party to accomplish great things. Now is that time, and my party is the future. We may never have this opportunity again to form the correct MEC structure.

How dare you, sir... How DARE you.

You're nuttier than squirrel excrement.

The writing style here is different from the emails, so it is someone different. But anyhow, who gives a rat’s a$$ who they are?

Nah, that's not accurate. I just don't want us to open up the contract to help them fix their problem.

not really. A little bit of thought and analysis would reveal that we are the only work group with training requirements that require much more forethought than every other group. Once large reductions are made to our staffing, it will take years to undo, regardless of what demand is doing.

That is the reason that IF our leadership truly doesn’t want to lose market share, they HAVE to do something creative with our work group. We might reject it, but we will definitely shrink significantly if our furloughs ending up matching 2021 demand.

To address another point of that post, other groups are taking 32 hour weeks to try and create more positions for the same amount of work. Customer service, dispatchers are in talks, and I believe the caterers considered it.

if you want to vote NO because you don’t want to give up some of your pay, then by all means do so. I don’t think many reasonable people think that’s wrong. What’s wrong are the reasons why many are proud no votes. The world changes. This isn’t 2004 and Kirby isn’t Tilton.

it’s also worth saying that there are certainly circumstances I would not vote yes for. Both if contractual provisions are compromised in anyway and if we had a different leadership team. Talk to your buddies at Delta, Mr Bastian is a man about margins and metrics, size is an afterthought . But I don’t think we have a single indication that Scott Kirby wants to “shrink to profitability.” And if our contract is entirely intact, I for one will take a few year MPG gamble on the future of United
