I read the MEC update reference "Clarifications and Corrections" to the current mitigation programs which left me more confused than before. The MEC has done an abysmal job communicating these programs and creating an informed rank and file. I have zero expectations that they'll do any better with an AIP, in fact, I expect a panicked cram down. I hope I'm wrong. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the other forum is not an "ALPA" forum any more than APC is, right? You'll never see ALPA officially host a forum.

Thank you. That forum has turned into Scott's message board. And I don't mean Kirby.
Locked threads, dissention squased (unless its the other sides opinion, etc) What a farce and why bother to participate? Who moderates the moderators? Someone calls out their opinion and poof...theread locked or worse. It sickens me to see what a bunch of thin-skinned babies we have become. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1425_.jpgPhuckkit. |

I hear ya, but considering the environment we find ourselves in, I don't think for minute that the AIP will offer improved pay and more days off. Anything we see is going to weaken the current book. Anyone who believes in snapbacks has never had them rammed where the sun don't shine.

United said today that we’ll have 18 BILLION at the end of the 3rd quarter. Why are we rushing to save the company?? I don’t get it.

True, the other forum is privately run. ALPA had the Compuserve forum and a couple other versions before shutting them down around 2012. Not sure about that date but it’s ballpark.
ALPA would probably be successful in defending that all opinions are an extension of the union hall in terms of protected content, but my view is they fear lawsuits from disaffected users that claim their opinion is being squashed. For that, I don't think there's a sound strategy that Herndon's lawyers feel capable of defending. |

That forum is compromised. They banned all the vocal opposition. They are selectively censoring posts that under normal circumstances would stand untouched. They even removed the “like” button so they could silence approval for users’ posts.

Agreed 100%! Some here will soon learn what a guaranteed snap back means to management. It simply will not go as you think it will. There is always some fine print and or legal loop hole that will cause the snap back to not snap. They are written into these agreements and ALPA always loses.

Because that is money that has to be paid back with interest. If a business takes out a line of credit, the money is there, but it is only used as a last resort. We aren’t in a rush to save the company. The rush from the union is the idea of preventing or reducing furloughs that are less than a month away. The company is in a rush to slow or stop the bleeding by any means necessary.
