I urge everyone to take a breath and relax until we see what they came up with. My reps know how I feel. I am not a yes or a no and I have a furlough letter. I will wait and decide my own fate once it passes the MEC. All I ask of my peers is to not speculate and go down the worm hole of what’s in it based off of rumor! Just my opinion

strong words there my friend. As you are someone in that 2850 I can tell your emotions are running high. You aren’t the first one to go through this. Concessions have never worked at any time. It’s a money in - money out problem. The company will gladly take any concessions and then ask for more or furlough more when “travel hasn’t rebounded to their appropriate levels”.

I’m all for furlough fund, volunteer my time monthly for an ALPA resource that pilots use every month & You can find me on the president’s circle of ALPA-PAC. Perhaps some of us have seen this a few times and maybe we aren’t buying it anymore. Just my view and my vote.

Respectfully, none of you have seen this before; however, you’ve certainly taken a beating before. Based on current and previous MEC communications I think the mistakes of the past were at the forefront of their negotiations leading to this AiP. Let’s all just wait to see IF it passes the MEC and then we can all read it for ourselves to make an informed decision.

Now what fun is that? Logic and common sense will not be tolerated here.

Good post. I’m actually willing to take the time to really digest what they’ve agreed upon should it reach MR. Very reserved feelings about it though. I still just don’t see how we can mitigate furloughs to this extent when we have no idea what the best 6-12 months has to offer.

Wadr we've never seen what? An exogenous event causing an airline over staffing issue leading to bumps and furloughs? We see it almost every ten years. Is the solution to perceived mistakes to turn this career into a multi year part time job for the majority every ten years?

If you’re not even going to bother reading it before deciding your vote, please do us a favor and don’t wear that ALPA pin anymore.

Seems like a big difference to me. I read it as stopping all future displacement bids, where the quote you used indicates to me it would include already announced but untrained displacements as well.

I guess we find out in a week or so.

you are right - planned was only in reference to furloughs. No “planned” for displacements. I’d read it as displacements getting canceled but we will see soon.

Unless the company threatens furloughs again and negotiates another “deal” or United goes through Ch11 and uses this “deal” as the new floor to argue for bigger concessions
