Maybe one of the snap backs happens when the Company files for bankruptcy? That way we wouldn’t be going into bankruptcy proceedings at a lower value.

I'm just curious why anyone would trust management knowing full well the items in this TA will be abrogated the second the company enters BK? There is a real possibility that American will declare BK sometime in the next year and other airlines will follow. Once in BK the company will claim "Force Majeure", it's just a tool to them. They will be free to lower pay, benefits and furlough as they see fit, with no regard to what is written in the TA. Might as well enter bankruptcy with the contract at "full-value", taking any reductions from that level, as opposed to how it was done the last time. Just a thought.

Pretty silly to start fighting when you have no idea what is really in it. What if it also resets the look back for RJ scope compliance. Or some other poison pill. You might want to keep your powder dry till you get more concrete info.

Think of an early discussion as sort of a vaccination. You know, just a harmless watered down version of the disease you may encounter, that prepares your immune system to fight the pathogen more effectively when you actually do encounter it.

it’s a basic tenet of preventive medicine. :D

Not disagreeing with that, but 1/2 pay in October without any kind of off ramp would certainly hurt more that 0 pay with 6 month lead time of full pay to prepare.

Not everybody. Not all middle guys got displaced. But maybe enough did to pass this concession. So for a guppy Captain...73 MPG - 57 MPG = 16 hours x 281 = 4496 per month + 719 B-fund =

5215 per month. 62580 per year. That’s a chunk a change !! I’m just saying.

Lets say the rumors regarding the tiered system hold true: a junior NB captain will get bumped to NB f/o. Then they get 50% of the NB f/o pay??? Yeah, no thanks.

Is this your first airline job? We know what's in it NOW. The late rumors are always the AIP. And the late rumors indicate a big suck for a big chunk of the pilot group in the short term and all pilots in the long term. This group gets this, this other group gets that and another group gets to line their pockets! Maybe it will all go away in two years but probably it won't.

We fly, they manage. Why is that so difficult for pilots to understand? This is their problem. They still have a LOT of money and access to aLOT more. Meanwhile, we have a contract. This perpetuates the idiotic cycle of us bailing them out. This sucks on dozens of levels.

Powder dry? We should just flush it down the toilet since we don't have the smarts or the balls to use it.

Top third taking a 10% reduction to mpg is in a Reuters article. This adds some validity to the AIP rumor or this could be fake news.
