around the water cooler talk though: if this “leaked” rumor Is pretty true company & union playing towards top 1/3 and bottom 1/3. top 1/3 takes least hit and can make that up via open time (nobody on furlough now) and bottom 1/3 gets to keep medical coverage and cover a mortgage. middle 1/3 gets the “Spaulding”. You will get nothing and like it. they know the numbers. Just need 50% +1. So with top 1/3 & bottom 1/3 they have it Probably hold close to vest until end of Sept. No timeline given. Expect a last minute hurry up vote. Frats Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk |

Snapbacks based on 2019 traffic will take YEARS to recover. In the meantime, the bottom third will have an MPG in the 30’s with the exception of summers and maybe December for the next 5 years or so. Those in the bottom third will seek employment elsewhere, moving the lines that define the thirds steadily up the seniority list (which is no longer a seniority list in the true sense). Future contract gains will be lost as massive amounts of negotiating capital will be required to repair the carnage done to the contract. This is crazy. Pipe |

Its likely the AIP will cost the company more than furloughing, but it keeps people in seats so they can react quickly. Also I’m not too worried about the people saying the company will immediately declare BK and lock in the changes, because we have $18B in cash in the bank. Also if they lock in the AIP long term, they can’t furlough and can’t displace anyone, which would be a nice way to go through BK.

Also, If this is going to come down as leaked with 3 tiers the divisiveness and resentment towards now separate factions will be long lasting. I think ALPA is making a catastrophic mistake with that approach but it’s obviously designed to get the 50% + 1. I’ll read the AIP but I’m starting from a no vote if it is as rumored. They’ll have to be pretty convincing to change my mind as I don’t trust management whatsoever. Someone else summed it up perfectly “Same circus, different clowns”. Snap backs lmao yea right.
Reference the forums, total wasteland over there on the other UAL forum. Pathetic moderation and the whining became intolerable with the same dozen or so pilots. ALPA absolutely had their own forum back in the 90’s early 2000’s but it suddenly vanished. No clue about the old Continental forum. It’s one thing to moderate to keep your feet out of the lawsuit fire, but it’s quite another to censor others based on your political leanings. Really, really sad. |

No way that they won’t furlough and/or displace if they enter Chapter 11 again. It would be nice, but what they really want is the lower bar called the AIP and then Chapter 11. Kirby wins twice!

It’s really sad what the other forum has become. Outright banning of dissenting opinions, selective censoring of others, and outright lying by the mods. All the while allowing their fawning attack pups to run amok.

I think somewhere in the language for the Cares loan it says airlines that take the money can't merge with another for a period of five years.

All this is off speculation yes but I am glad people are looking at the different ways this might be presented as “not a concession”. Seriously expect a sell job if this passes higher up..If it doesn’t it will die on the vine and we won’t see it. But It would be obtuse to think long term concessions will not be part of this. When was the last contract amendable date again?

Pretty silly to start fighting when you have no idea what is really in it. What if it also resets the look back for RJ scope compliance. Or some other poison pill. You might want to keep your powder dry till you get more concrete info.
