^This. As well as the vast majority of this churn is the byproduct of reassuring the analysts that mgmt is ready and willing to CUT COSTS to avoid bankruptcy and LOOK COMPETITIVE until a recovery may occur.

Have you considered the incremental furlough cost beyond 2850? Those additional 1000 come at a significantly higher cost to the Company - every single one of them. It’s not like furloughing FAs. I think there’s a good reason the additional 1000 haven’t seen WARN letters. And all of those will require 3 months advance notice with furlough pay and vacation. That’s a lot money. Why haven’t they sent the letters already if they intend to furlough? What’s it cost to send a letter?

They only need 60 days notice for a WARN letter. Our CBA says that those will need 90, but not more than 120 days notice. If this fails, I’d expect the CBA furlough notices to go out as soon as early October for January furloughs. It doesn’t cost anything to send a letter, but there is a narrow window for when they can go out.

Totally agree with everything you just posted except I’m optimistic the additional 1000 won’t be out the door or not at least as soon as you say.

I sure hope that you’re right. Everything about this stinks. I’m reading, listening to other pilots and the union, and trying to play devil’s advocate with both sides of the issue trying to gain as much info as I can before I vote. If we vote no, I’m pretty sure we’re going to furlough hard and fast. If we vote yes, we may save all the furloughs (I think unlikely) or at least cut the number in half, while allowing more flexibility to get back to where we were. I’m not considering what is good for the shareholders or Kirby, I’m considering what could potentially keep other families from going through what many of us have gone through and providing a path to quickly put this behind us so that I can get back to my cushy long haul international gig.

The C12 Chair, who was one of three who signed this statement and who was MEC Chair during pivotal moments of the last furlough, did NOTHING for you when you were out on the street. She cozied up to Tilton and left you to rot. Remember that.

For the lower third voters:

Consider the above as you ponder what the future holds for you.

The C12 Chair is hands down the most respected pilots in all of United Airlines. You need to take back your words right now.

Says the guy with the biggest anti-Insler agenda on the planet and the fractured, poorly written libel to go along with it. What a pathetic hypocrite.

if we were truly "in this together"....Then..............Management would be working for about half wages. And the other work groups would be taking cuts too. And, in pilot land, we wouldn't be in 3 separate life boats, or buckets. Since we are in 3 buckets............I personally think the bottom third has too much in their bucket. The others being asked to give too much so your life boat can be provisioned to a higher level than is deserved.
