Quote: Perhaps drama was the wrong word. How about hassle? On the WB, there are just 2 legs per trip, 2 briefings, things seem to run more reliably, and fewer days on the road. On the NB you have to deal with 2-3 (sometimes more) legs per day, crew changes, briefings, better chance of delays bouncing through the hubs for 3-4 days........ Being on a WB is definitely a slower pace, more relaxed, and far more productive. For only $40k difference in pay, I’ll take my time in the bunk, pass on all of the extra work, and end up home an extra 50-60 days per year. Again, it’s great to have a choice as to what kind of flying that you want to do.
Yep ... it’s like we have two different airlines ... I always preferred the slower pace and more time off.

Mako,

I'm disappointed. You missed the obvious. How hard has it been to sleep in your own bed every night? Get up the same time, don't feel tired the moment you wake up? Retirement has made you a bit slow....

If you have a moment away from your busy retirement schedule, could you please grace us with a fishing pic or two? Thanks.

Hi Dave,

A bit slow on the uptake, yes. I've been on sabbatical from this place and loving every minute of it. All of the cars are washed, the boat's been waxed, etc. The shop is still a mess, but I'll get around to that eventually. I talk frequently with a buddy or three and keep up with MU but in only the most cursory sense. I miss many elements of moving the plane around but mostly I miss the overnights and the good dudes. The others, not at all. . It's not the airline we used to work for and a whole bunch of that is a shame. (Standby for acerbic rebuke from one of the usual suspects!)

Be well and dirty side down.

Any updates on our parked fleets and when and where? I’m guessing that the 14 Max aircraft will be unpacked shortly if not already completed?
