Who am I? I'd be impressed.

Clearly by my new name you could narrow me down to about 4000 people. Hopefully that satisfies whether I'm qualified to talk on the board or not.
I disagree with the after takeoff checklist. Our company is an activist company and I'm tired of the game they make us play with running an after takeoff checklist. I don't need a checklist to tell me how to fly! It's about CONTROL! Who is our EMPLOYER to tell us how to fly an airplane? I read on facebook you fly better without checklists. Also, the checklist can cause infection and disease if you forget to wipe it down.

... Now do you see how stupid you sound? We don't need 13,000 pilots doing 13,000 different things, thanks.

I just hope that we can get back to needing 13,000 pilots within the next 5 years. I’ll be pleased if we actually need 70% of that by the end of 2021.

Takeoff checklists/flying airplanes and opinions about masks are identical. Opinions/funding about BLM and NRA etc also the same. See how stupid you sound? Grow up. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Most I know have deleted anything that associates them with UAL as the company goes after people for voicing opinions contrary to theirs on public issues on their own FB page. This excludes talking bad about your employer publicly. I get that. Though I disagree with that type of leadership. I was at the training center a little while back and there were 13k people doing 13k different things. Some wearing masks, some not.

I feel for you if its people from Minnesota. I wouldn't be able to deal with that accent for too long before slicing my wrists. Not sure what the different states comment has to do with anything. Its the same virus everywhere.
I am curious to know if students have had to stop training because of infection, or if instructors have been infected by students. Certainly the shorter training events expose instructors to more risk.

Lol on MN. As for different states, everyone has a different perspective on mask use based on their local requirements. It could cause tension or misunderstandings at a minimum.

As for delayed training and quarantines for students/instructors, yeah that seems to be happening to some extent from what I know.

Not the same thing at all. One is SOP related to how we fly, and one isn't. The masks are SOP at the training center, in the crew room, and in the airplane, at least until the door is closed. Whether you agree with it or not, it doesn't matter. You don't get to pick and choose. I was at the training center not that long ago either and thankfully most people were doing pretty good with mask compliance, but one instructor was not. Thankfully I didn't get sick, but I would have been pretty mad if I had.

Any instructor that preaches the need for "deliberate practice" or "avoiding intentional non-compliance" (or whatever this week's LEAP buzzword is) while not wearing a mask should take a long, hard look in the mirror.

I always giggle when I read this stuff.
You guys argue with the professional opinions/facts of people at the top of their field, because of political opinion, facebook science, perceived government control, keeping the man down or because the my pillow guy said so.

BUT....

We all know that if the M.D. with a PPL came to your cockpit and started telling you how to do your job, because Facebook, you'd blow an absolute gasket!

Change my mind.
