Uhhhmm,

Last week you were thinking about getting out of the industry, you lived with your parents and were a regional pilot. Now you’re “not in the industry anymore” a wisened old veteran all of a sudden. And I’m not at all worried about you skippy. I’m sure mommy is bringing you mac and cheese and some milk as you read this.

Mako sure is getting some rent free space in some peoples heads. I find this as amusing as some of his sarcastic comments.

So, the point of a troll isn’t to best you intellectually, it’s just to steal your time/attention and elicit a reaction.

food for thought

So I am a troll because I have a different opinion than you? 40-plus percent of your fellow pilots are trolls? That's a hell of a way to run a union. It's a forum. An exchange of ideas. Not just yours.

Good luck moving forward.

Spot on. Some people make me scratch my head and wonder why they get off on this stuff. I do wonder if they act the same in person as they do on APC.

Internet trolls are the worst. I would never post something to waste your time.

This isn't an ALPA forum right? if it were an ALPA forum we would all have to salute smartly and just say nothing. Do as your told. Think as your told.

Guys like Mako should learn to "let go" and they will be happier for it. Believe me.

If everyone turned the other cheek and just let bygones be bygones, then this industry would be scab-laden, and management would be incentivized to run a muck. It's management that causes the work rules/conditions, and the degradation of the profession. The irony is that we are disagreeing with the response to management's actions that cause the dysfunction and disarray in our profession. This profession doesn't belong to management, nor does it belong to ALPA. it belongs to the line pilots who built it. Don't let go. Hold on to it, and pass the baton to the next generation.

That is sage advice.

I started this about 5 years ago. My family and I treat United as a second job, or second career. Being dependent upon management to avoid financial doom, liquidity shortfalls, or their response to Geo-political issues (which to be fair is impossible to predict), world dis-order as in Pandemics (which to be fair is impossible to predict)...It's all about being dependent or not. I get it. Business is a risk. A large business is a big risk. We, are just widgets here at this airline. Our family's and our kids are not. Some how, some way, it is prudent to take proactive precautions to protect your family from others economic decisions. Don't be a slave to the airline. Get some freedom by embarking upon another endeavor that helps protect your bottom line. 14 years to go.
