The territorial government is trying to reopen to tourism in May but it will be an uphill battle until other countries in the region ease their quarantine restrictions. Wouldn’t be surprised to see further base reductions through attrition over the coming year.

This aged poorly in a week. CA vacancies & no FO attrition on this vacancy, so potential for backfills. It ain't growth, but it's not death for now, either. Bid what you want...

it boggles my mind why people respond these threads. this person has absolutely no knowledge of united and therefore no chance of getting hired.

IAH

About how long will it take to hold IAH as a new hire? I would plan on commuting out of AEX (which could be drivable). All the other bases would be a nightmare commute.

6 months to 2 years…. Staffing hasn’t recovered yet from the COVID shuffle. IAH is a very senior base. Rule of thumb: cheap=senior. Another thing to consider - the more senior the base the longer you will be on reserve as commuters bid in above you chasing the optimal QOL. UAL reserve is not necessarily a commuter friendly prospect.
