Anyone on the 737 have experience with the Tumi 22" carry-on they sell down in the uniform store? Aka, does it fit (so to speak)? Price is similar to Travelpro. Orrr, I'll just get LW like everyone else (without side pockets, naturally).

Check the Briggs & Riley 22".
I've jump-seated with it in 737 with it a few times, it's much lighter than those metal frame bags and doesn't scream "aircrew" when travelling incognito.
Lifetime warranty and if you're military can usually find it in the exchange stores at a discount.

I like the B&R bag better than the Tumi one, although the Tumi bag is super cheap in comparison through the United discount. It may not matter to you, but Tumi is the FA bag, just FYI.

B&R bag is great, warranty is awesome as mentioned, and we get a good discount (not sure how it compares to the BX discount) if you call them…I think 20%.

The Tumi bag (if you mean the same one the flight attendants all received) does not fit below the 737 jumpseat. I was going to buy one, but a flight attendant allowed me to try it out in the cockpit and it is just a little bit too wide to fit in the normal storage area.

I would definitely go with the StrongBags stuff. The guy that makes and sells those is a SWA pilot and it was designed to fit the 737.
I had one for 8 years on a 2 leg commute on regional aircraft. The rampers did everything they could to attempt to destroy that thing. He makes great bags and the parts are all easy to replace if you need to. I had to change out the wheels once.

You can also take it to a luggage repair shop near you for free. If they are in my town, they are probably everywhere.
