Default Allentown

Hello everyone!

I am looking for information on life in Allentown area. Looking to possibly move to the area for easy commute to EWR, decent cost of living, and (maybe) some OK public schools.

Is anyone on here a pilot/relator in the area? I would love to pick your brain and possibly bring a little business your way when/if we move there next summer.

Thanks in advance.

Sending you a PM. I know a private jet guy that’s a realtor in the ABE area. He is an awesome dude!

Allentown, the city proper, is the largest city in the Lehigh Valley...it is full of poverty and drugs.

Bethlehem is the best city in the valley, Easton has some decent spots but is also troubled.

The best suburbs in the valley as far as public schools go are Parkland and Nazareth. Lehigh is a good district, Saucon has had some issues in the last few years (check the news).

The Lehigh Valley? Avoid it. There are tons of pilots...but...

Guns and drugs abound. There are some lovely homes and subdivisions but I regret moving here several years ago. There are many nicer places to live with a EWR base. In retrospect the higher tax rates are probably worth it.

There are more and more warehouses everywhere in The Lehigh Valley and I-78 to EWR is an unpleasant drive.

I'm surprised how much crime and violence exists. New York City and it's problems move westward...
