Take that employee number and go to the staffing page and see where they fall.

If that is your BES, you see it in PBS.

G line is historically in the 80%ish… due to 777 PW and international travel slump the G line will be abnormally more senior for the near term… don’t let that dissuade you from bidding.

It's been a long time since I last sat reserve on a fleet. Is there a way to consistently add a couple hours above the 72 min or was that changed? Something like turning RDO to VDOs or picking up 5 Short Calls for an hours pay? I guess I need to go stick my nose in the contract before next spring. Thanks to any that can help.

Joe,

reserve is 73 hours (hey you just made an extra hour without doing anything!)

VDO’s pays 50% (hint- put the VDO on your last day off so any trip you do pays the 50% for the whole trip, yes that includes normal reserve days it flies over. If your VDO your first day off then any trip that touches it only pays for the singular VDO)

anything over 2 unassigned SC/FSB adds 1 hour per unused. The caveat being if you did the pick up then there is a limit to the extra pay. If the crew desk assigns them all, there is no cap to the added hour of pay per occurrence beyond the first two. My best month was 7 hours of unused SC/FSB pay because I let the crew desk assign them all.

see 3-C-1-b

highly recommend downloading the Reserve Gouge from the other forum. I think the latest version is 6.5.

3–C-1-b
Short calls get you an hour each only when you go unused. Your first two unused short calls each month get no credit & there are limits on how many can be self pickups vs company assignment.

VDOs (5-E-8-a) on the other hand, only pay out if you do get used. It can be a good deal & it involves add pay, so it doesn’t require going over guarantee to make $$. Of course, it works best when there’s a lot of flying on your particular BES, so if you’re consistently hitting min pay, there might also not be a lot of action on VDOs. Know the contract to understand caveats & how to make it work best for you.

Curious…….where are you bidding to that you think you will be on reserve in the spring?

I'm pulling the trigger on EWR 777 CA. Projections put me at about 85% so definitely on reserve. Luckily I live close. I had a bid from the last MOAB to EWR756 CA, but I finally realized that 72 hours at $352 is the same as 85 hours at $293 so why kill myself with 5 Europe trips when I can sit at home on SC and probably not work much until this COVID thing is good and gone and hopefully by then I might actually hold a line. Now it looks like 74 or 75 hours pay per month should be doable which makes it even more of a slam dunk decision.
