if the weather is nice go to the huge outdoor/indoor beer garden about 3 blocks from the hotel (cut through the train station)… ask the front desk for instructions.

Must visit Hofbrauhaus if it's your first time......

https://www.hofbraeuhaus.de/de/hofbraeuhaus.html

German National Museum (like their version of Smithsonian). has an amazing display of acutal U boat that has been cut in half down the middle so you can see inside the whole design. Large collection of German industrial engineering.

Did a bike tour with Mike's Bikes this summer. Great overview of the city.

The Augustiner-Keller beer garden and restaurant is almost certainly open as it has a huge outdoor beer garden. Augustiner-Keller info

It is located just a few blocks away. Cut through the train station and go out the North side exit and take a left up Anulfstrabe.

Map

If you have a longer layover and have already done Dachau, then take a train to one of the breweries in the region. (if they will let you on the train)?

Line S1 will take you out West to Herrsching and then a short bus ride up the hill will take you to the Andechs Monastary/Brewery. Afterward you can walk down the hill back to the train station. Super nice place with a huge outdoor patio to enjoy the views, the beer, and the food.

Line S7 will take you South to Aying . The Ayinger brewery is a short walk from the train station.

Another possible train day trip: Lake Chiemsee or the Austrian border.

If you want to rent a car: exploring rural Bavaria/Allgau can also be a blast.
