Default Laredo Layover Hotel

The former Laredo layover hotel was very nice, rooms had a kitchenette and lots of room, especially nice for the WEEKEND LAYOVER in a place where there is not much to do .................... provided you stay out of Mexico !!!
I was not impressed to see that we are staying in what I consider to be a very unsatisfactory layover hotel, found it to be very busy and packed with folks from Mexico who come over everyday to do their shopping on the USA side, and they bring ALL THE KIDS with them ................. Try getting something to eat during the Breakfast session, almost impossible !!! I could not get a "quieter room" which would face the backside of the hotel, instead had to face the busy street side which also faces the large Mall parking lot, so lots of BOOM BOX noise going on there and car horns ................... I did the OPS report, and not sure if I will hear anything back but I would like to ask of anyone else that has done LRD trip to also OPS report this and if we get enough UNSAT reports, maybe we can get something nicer ................. or maybe they will put us closer to the border ? Visions of staying at the LA POSADA Hotel, only two blocks to the border .............................

I have always received some sort of response for every hotel/gt/catering ops report I have submitted.

Ops reports and letters to the SIG are the only way we can get hotels changed.

As you can see by the avatar, I don't have to worry about this anymore. But, to help you out, see if the Hotel Committee will look into Embassy Suites on Calle de la Norte in Larado. Decent hotels (Hilton family) and far away from Nuevo border crossing. Think we had a layover at the Embassy Suites in BOS light years ago, which was quiet and a great location for food and drink. Now I sleep from 11PM to 7am...not the other way around, of which I did decades of. Good luck.
