In general the 777 has better destinations (Europe) and potentially shorter legs. The 787 has a standardized, nice bunk and slightly more comfortable due to lower diff pressure & humidifier. Once you're off the initial freeze it's quick and painless to go back and forth between planes.

Once the 777 fleet is at full capacity we'll have a better idea of the routes/pairing each will fly.

Default Outsider looking in...

Are 77/78 reservists breaking guarantee? I know it's years to holding a line.

I had 92 hours in June on 787 EWR reserve, but I was aggressively picking up to consolidate.
Lately the trips in Open Time are generally: Tel Aviv (all the time), Delhi (almost as much), Lisbon and the 2-day LAX are becoming more common.

Global Reserve sucks. Simple as that. If you live in base and don’t mind a few off days going hot so be it but as a commuter it sucks.

What international routes does United have out of LAX?

I'm a DCA Captain. I'm used pretty much every reserve day and easily break guarantee every month. since completing OE 2+ months ago I've had 1 SC assignment...the rest has been flying. The one time I was sure to get SC they assigned me a Bunkie trip (that might speak to FO staffing....).
